I recently purchased a copy of Breathing by Dr Andrew Weil for my family & I this Christmas.
I have to say the techniques are easy to do and a revelation. I feel as if my lungs have been given a good clean and that my breathing is more powerful than ever before. Plus, as an asthmatic, it is helping me to control my breathing which is definitely a positive step. The techniques help me relax as well and generally help me to meditate. Dedicating 20 minutes to this each morning will not be hard to do.
My favourite technique is #6) Let Yourself Be Breathed. This is where you imagine that when you inhale and exhale that you are not doing it; rather you imagine that the universe is blowing breath in and out of you instead. You try to become the passive recipient of breath. Fantastic.
My wife also enjoyed the techniques and found it very meditative and helpful. She is a Reiki Healer and Reflexologist and will no doubt be incorporating this into her overall skill-set and teaching it to others.
