Imagine if Trafalgar Square was turfed over? What a lovely idea. Well for two days you do not have to imagine...
In an astonishing move Trafalgar Square has been given a green face as part of Visit London's drive to highlight London's green spaces.
Fantastic idea to highlight how good grass looks of course but sadly it only lasts for a couple of days.
The big down side is that they gave Trafalgar Square a green face at the expense of somewhere in the Vale of York...
What do you think? Ends justify the means?
UPDATE: Just discovered that the turf was collected in an environmentally friendly manner and that it will be planted, when the project ends, beneath trees in a nearby park. What a wonderful thing to do. Hats off to the folks behind the idea...we want more!
